The Lone Star State aka Texas

In December of 2013 Zach was invited down to Texas for a job interview with a healthcare company. Zach went down and along came Leila and I. We had so much fun chilling in the Hotel, attempting to swim in the pool (a little cold for our liking), toured around the area, we were trying to find a house, because we just knew we were coming down here for good! It was super crazy how everything worked out so well for us. We finished off December in Utah hanging out with family and then in California with Zach's family. We had such a hard time saying goodbye to everyone but we know we will be back to visit!

Leila got tired and fell asleep in the plane! It was actually hers and mine FIRST ever plane ride!

Saying goodbye to the cutest twins in the world! Cousin Brooke and Carly!

Christmas with these two cuties! Cousin Ellie and Jack!

I don't know how I almost missed the best part of December! Other than all of our festivities we were SEALED as a family. It was just a beautiful and uplifting day! Our family was in attendance Matt and Lu came up from Arizona with Ellie and Jack, Jon and Melissa were there from Hawaii, and Steve and Katie with Brooke and Carly, Brittany and Kody were there. We missed Kari she had to work and Jeremy and Sarahlynn were unable to make it from Minnesota. The ceremony was absolutely amazing. I love being sealed to my best friend and love that Leila is ours forever! I will post pictures when I can get them. I love families and I love that we can be together forever! I am grateful to be apart of something so special and so real! I love this gospel and the way it makes me feel. :) Okay I will get off my soap box now.
We weren't out of Utah for too long when we came back for my baby sister's wedding! I can't believe she is married. OMG! She made such a beautiful bride. I am really glad that we were able to make the trip back after just moving a week before! Leila was just a good girl during all of these new transitions. I could not have asked for a better first kid. I am scared to have another one because I fear of all the things that I have been blessed with so far. Yikes!

I always love Leila smiles!

Summer coming to a Close

Zach and I weren't able to do all the fun things that we like to do in summertime like go swimming. Okay that is pretty much it. I love the water. Going to water parks is the best part of summer. Getting tan, having slurpees (they are not the same in the winter lol), bar-b-ques, camping...just jokes who am I kidding I don't love camping I would much rather sleep in my nice comfy bed, but the option is there to go camping and sleep under the stars.
Instead we had a baby girl! She is just as much fun as all those other things times ten! We were able to go to some baseball games. Mostly ones that Zach was playing in. We got to watch him coach a team that....well lets just say they weren't that good, but by the end of the season they could have been the best team in the league if they didn't have such a big problem with people not showing up for games. We weren't able to make it out to California this summer to go see our favorite baseball team play. The Oakland Athletics! instead we settled for an Orem Owls game. It was pretty entertaining and Leila had such a fun time.
We found out that the coach for the Orem Owls was Zach's old high school coach so he went and had a chat with him and caught up on a few things before we left the game.
Zach and Leila enjoying some father daughter bonding. Aren't they cute???
Mommy and Leila. Yes my hair is now blonde...
Leila is so full of smiles :)
Her blessing day!
All in all it has been a pretty fantastic summer! Some ups and downs but we are happy and are enjoying every moment of it!

July 2013 "Leila"

Who doesn't love the 4th of July? You get family, parades, fireworks and not to mention celebrating our country! Well this year Zach and I had been spending a lot of time back and forth between his family and mine. I think I overdid it because on Saturday the 7th (after a very long day might I add) I went into labor with our baby girl. She wasn't due yet and we were no where prepared to go to the hospital in the middle of the night.

It all started at 2 o'clock in the morning, when I had to wake up and go to the bathroom. Instead I got my water breaking. Let me just tell you that is quite the experience. You have absolutely no control on what is happening. Anyway....Zach threw a bunch of our things into a bag and we rushed out the door, only for him to yell at my in-laws that were staying with us that we are having a baby.

We made it to the hospital in a timely matter. Thankfully no cars were on the road at almost 3 in the morning. Once we got all checked in I got the epidural and fell asleep. As soon as i was dilated we started pushing at about 11 am. I pushed and pushed and pushed. She was not coming. The doctor told me that she was not in a position for him to be able to grab her and pull her out. I needed a c-section. I was devestated! i just spent 4 hours pushing and in horrible pain. (The doctor had taken me off the epidural to help me push better, a lot of good that did.) I was in uncontrolable tears. Zach was there holding my hand and as soon as teh doctor left he asked me if I wanted a blessing. I said yes. He gave me the blessing with his dad and then the nurse wheeled me into sugery at 3 in the afternoon. Leila came at 3:10 pm weighing 8 pounds 6 ounces and 21 inches long! She is my everything and is totally worth the agony that I went through to get her here.

Isn't she just perfect?!
